A feast fit for Petite Sirah

This year, we were thrilled to celebrate our 50th years as America’s First Petite Sirah. We’ve been making this tasty varietal longer than anyone else in the United States! Since this wine has long been a part of our family celebrations, we thought we’d share some family recipes that you can serve alongside this original Concannon Vineyard wine.

Irish Lamb Stew: Now that autumn has arrived, there’s a chill in the air that has us yearning for hearty stews. This treasured Concannon family recipe is a traditional Irish favorite, slow-cooked chunks of lamb seasoned with fresh herbs and vegetables. It’s a one dish meal perfect with a glass of Concannon Petite Sirah.

Steak and Mushroom Pie: Autumn is mushroom season, the time of year when our markets are filled with all sorts of freshly-picked mushroom. For years, the Concannon family has enjoyed pairing steak and mushrooms in this old-fashioned pie. It’s essentially a slowly-cooked beef and vegetable stew seasoned with Petite Sirah that is then topped with a buttery crust and baked. Delicious!

Irish Soda Bread: A traditional accompaniment to Irish soups and stews, soda bread is also great served with an assortment of cheeses, smoked salmon, seasoned spreads, etc. Here’s the Concannon family recipe. Perfect alongside a big bowl of our hearty Irish Lamb Stew!
