New Year’s Wine Resolutions

The new year will be here before you know it! Have you made any new year’s resolutions yet? Here are some ideas we’d happily toast! Cheers!

Expand your palate: If you automatically reach for the same two or three varietals whenever you shop, resolve to try new wines in 2012. If you love Sauvignon Blanc, experiment with different Pinot Grigios. If you adore Cabernet Sauvignon, sample some Cabernet Franc. The idea is to teach your palate some new tricks!

Share wine with friends: Do you have several good friends or neighbors who enjoy wine as much as you do? Why not create a group that gets together monthly or quarterly to try new wines? The host or hostess prepares the food and selects the varietal. Each guest brings a different bottle of the chosen varietal to sample. To make this more fun, you can mask the wines in paper bags and unveil the favorites at the end of the party.

Arrange a wine tasting adventure: Do you live near an area that offers a selection of wineries and vineyards? Put together a field trip for fellow wine lovers to explore a few new wineries together on a weekend. If there are no wineries nearby, check out local wine bars and other venues where you can grow your wine knowledge while making memories with your friends!
