I Scream, You Scream! It’s Concannon’s Ice Cream Social for Adults!
On the list of life’s indulgent pleasures, wine and ice cream are crave-worthy additions. Who better to take us through the tasting experience than Estate Sommelier, LeeAnn Kaufman, who partnered with Humphrey Slocombe for unique and delicious pairings! Here are some wine and ice cream pairings from this year’s I Scream, You Scream event:
Concannon Vineyard Wine and Ice Cream Pairings
Reserve 2017 Viognier & Concannon Vineyard’s Viognier & Stone Fruit Ice cream
Who knew that our Viognier could create such an amazing ice cream? We did! This wine and one-of-a-kind ice cream combination bring rich, distinctive aromas, flavors of our favorite stone fruits, and the taste of marmalade fruit, baked apple, and spice.
Reserve 2017 Rosé & Peach Melba Ice Cream
The Rosé starts with strawberry, red cherry, and a playful tickle of satin on the palate. Bring on the Peach Melba! The fresh notes of peach and cream take this wine to a delicious finish of toasted marshmallow.
Reserve 2015 Malbec & Peanut Butter & Fudge Ripple Ice Cream
Our Malbec is fruit forward with subtle notes of red plum, vanilla, and blueberry. Pair this rich Malbec with peanut butter & fudge ripple ice cream! It supports the sweet spice and round tannins in the wine, drawing you deeper and deeper into that delicious abyss.
Reserve 2015 Crimson & Clover (45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Petit Verdot, 16% Merlot, 10% Mourvèdre) & Black Sesame Ice Cream
This signature blend is complex with a commanding presence. Big and bright notes of mocha, cherry, and blackberry fill the palate. The Black Sesame pulls the wine’s tannins to life with hints of licorice, roasted coffee, and oak.
Reserve 2015 Grenache & J’s Juice Red Wine Sorbet
This wine walks its own path, with alluring aromatics of earth and spice intermingled with roses, raspberries, and rhubarb. J’s Juice Sorbet is an odd combination of red wine and cola. But, in this case, the red fruit and cola notes bring bright brambleberry and cherry fruit flavors. Toss in heavenly hints of smoke, chocolate and oak, and you will be dreaming of the combination for days to come.
