$175 – $200Somm University is a fun yet educational experience, designed to show you why your nose is as important as your taste buds. Our Estate Sommelier will guide you through “practical tasting” exercises. Learn how to get most out of what is in your glass, specific grape varieties and the wines themselves. This University is the most fun you can have while you learn, practice, and taste your way to wine expertise.
Sessions are on Fridays from 6:00-7:30pm

Session #1: “The Mechanics of Wine Tasting”
Friday, March 8 | 6:00 – 7:30pm
Tasting is in its essence is a subjective business. Learn to trust your intuitions and may discover you know far more than you gave yourself credit for.
Session #2: The Basics
Friday, April 12 | 6:00 – 7:30pm
LeeAnn will cover all the elements in the glass, from acidity through to tannin, alcohol and oak.
Session #3: “Swirl, Sniff, Sip, Discover”
Friday, May 10 | 6:00-7:30pm
Aromas, textures and flavors offer clues about a wine, though it may elicit more questions than answers. So dive in, pay attention, keep your eyes, ears, and nose open. There are layers of flavor here, and different nuances for you to discover.
Session #4: Practice, Practice, Practice!
Friday, June 14 | 6:00 – 7:30pm
All you need is a consistent tasting technique to build upon. Each new wine you try is an opportunity to practice.
Session #5: Blind Tasting Exam / Graduation
Friday, July 12 | 6:00 – 7:30pm
The most important aspect of any wine is that you enjoy it. With this in mind, you will need to know that there are no clues to identify what you are tasting.
