Concannon Vineyard will be hosting a month-long celebration in September in honor of International Cabernet Sauvignon Day that will include Cabernet Fest, Sunset Vineyard Tours and a French-inspired finale gala called A French Affair. Established in 1883, Concannon Vineyard has a rich history as A Founding Family of Cabernet Sauvignon. Currently, an estimated 80% of California’s 88,000 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon comes from our Concannon Clones.
Concannon Vineyard has created the Cab for a Cause program lasting the entire month of September to raise funds for ValleyCare Charitable Foundation’s Women in Need fund. Concannon hopes to help raise awareness of this extremely worthy cause as Breast Cancer Awareness month approaches.
Established in 2010 by Drs. Jeff Bueno and Tom Sellick, the Women in Need fund provides financial assistance to underinsured and underprivileged patients in Dublin, Livermore, and Pleasanton during their treatment and recovery from breast cancer.
The Women in Need fund has helped over 438 local patients, giving them much-needed support including post-mastectomy camisoles and compression garments which allow breast cancer patients greater comfort when moving around and help in the healing process. Donations to the Women in Need fund help to alleviate the financial burden of a breast cancer diagnosis, so patients can focus on what’s most important –their recovery.
